History

The origins of Theta Tau can be traced back to 4 mining students at the University of Minnesota. On October 15th, 1904, Erich J. Schrader, Elwin L. Vinal, William M. Lewis, and Isaac B. Hanks founded the fraternity.

Over the many years since its birth, Theta Tau has grown into the largest professional engineering fraternity in existance today. With emphasis on quality, professionalism, and a strong fraternal bond, Theta Tau has initiated over 28,000 members nation wide.

The Lambda Beta chapter was established on September 28th, 1968 and is credited with being the first and oldest fraternity on the TTU campus.
