On May 24, 1981 thirteen distinguished college women chartered the Xi Alpha chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. at Tennessee Tech University. Alpha Kappa Alpha became the first African American sorority on campus. The Ladies of Xi Alpha Chapter strive to give 'service to all mankind' through our community service and educational programs.
