The Tennessee Tech Rugby Football club was started in 1974 by Dr. Nairy. The best season for the Golden Eagle Rugby Club is in the Spring of 1994, the team had a record of 13 wins and losing only to Sewanee and Memphis State. Also in the fall of 1992 the Club came in second in the Mid-South Tournament to Vanderbilt
